Villa Strobele garden and Malga Costa area are in Val di Sella, location accessible by Borgo Valsugana thru SP40 Val di Sella road.
Villa Strobele Garden is about 10 Km from Borgo Valsugana, Malga Costa area about 14 km.

Shortly before and shortly after Villa Strobele are public parking for the visitors (parking n. 4, 5 and 6).

In order to visit Malga Costa (the main area of Arte Sella) the parking is behind Carlon restaurant. From there, proceed exclusively on foot for 800 meters (about 10/15 minutes walk) to reach Malga Costa.

 

How to reach Borgo Valsugana

 

By car: Borgo Valsugana can be reached via the SS. 47 and is about 35 km from Trento and about 100 km from Padua.

By plane: The closest airports are Verona “Catullo” and Venice “Marco Polo”. A bus service connects both airports to the Verona P.N. and Venice S.L. train stations, respectively. The town of Borgo Valsugana is served by the Trento-Venice railway line.

By train: Borgo Valsugana can be reached by the Trento/Bassano/Venice and Venice/Bassano/Trento lines, stopping at Borgo Valsugana Centro. Timetables are available on the Trentitalia website. There are no public transport services from Borgo Valsugana to Val di Sella.

 

How to reach Val di Sella from Borgo Valsugana

 

Public service: From June 14, 2025, to October 19, 2025, the urban tourist service connecting Borgo Valsugana with Val di Sella will be active.
JUNE, SEPTEMBER E OCTOBER: Saturday and Sunday
JULY AND AUGUST: Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays (including August 14th and 15th)
Costs: €1 to be paid directly on the bus (we recommend using debit card, credit card, or coins).

By car: To reach the Arte Sella exhibition routes in Val di Sella, enter the following parameters into your satellite navigation system: Borgo Valsugana, Address – Villa Strobele or Malga Costa; enter “Carlon Restaurant” to directly reach the last parking lot.

By Caravan or Camper: Caravans and campers can travel along the SP40 Val di Sella during the following hours:
– Ascent from Borgo Valsugana to Val di Sella is permitted only from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
– Descent from Val di Sella to Borgo Valsugana is permitted only from 1:00 p.m. onwards.

 

By Pullman (only private): Access to the Val di Sella is via a typical mountain road with some narrow sections. It is therefore advisable to avoid using buses with a capacity of more than 52 passengers or length exceeding 12 meters, double-decker buses, or three-axle buses. Buses may access the Sella Valley at the following times: 
– Ascent from Borgo Valsugana to Val di Sella is permitted only from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
– Descent from Val di Sella to Borgo Valsugana is permitted only from 1:00 p.m. onwards.

 

Parking: For Villa Strobele, we recommend parking just after the Al Legno restaurant; for Malga Costa, we recommend the last parking lot behind the Carlon restaurant.

By bicycle: You can reach the Val di Sella by cycling along the SP40. The route is approximately 13 km long and steeply uphill. Click on the following link to view the route: From Borgo Valsugana to Arte Sella by bike via the SP40.

During the summer, an electric bike rental service is available to reach the Sella Valley from Borgo Valsugana. For information: InBike Valsugana

 

By foot: Arte Sella can be reached on foot via the SAT 203 trail, which starts in Barco di Levico and ends at Malga Costa. The route is a typical mountain trail with mixed terrain, with an elevation gain of 425 meters and a total length of 7 km (round trip). It takes more than two hours to complete at a good pace. It is recommended for those familiar with mountain trails, equipped with appropriate equipment, and in good physical condition. Please note that the opening and general condition of the trail is the responsibility of the SAT, not Arte Sella; please check its condition by contacting the SAT office in Levico Terme or the Valsugana Lagorai Tourist Board.

Spazi LIVIORossi – Administrative headquarters

 

The LIVIORossi spaces, home to the Arte Sella Association, are located in the center of Borgo Valsugana, at Corso Ausugum, 55. They can be reached on foot from the Borgo Valsugana Est and Centro train stations, or by parking the car park near the historic center. The spaces house the Arte Sella offices, which are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
